Many choose to stay in Santa Maria, which features a magnificent coastline. The most typical place is Espargos, the island's capital, which stands out thanks to the bright colours of its dwellings. You must visit the Burracona natural swimming pool and Pedra do Lume, a crater filled with salt water.

Ponte Preta restaurant is also exceptional, where the relaxed atmosphere is enhanced by an exceptional panorama and excellent seafood dishes. The Bikini Beach Club is located on Algodoeira beach and features a sophisticated restaurant, as well as a cocktail bar and a VIP area where you can dine on sushi and champagne.
